Hi there!  I’m Delphine Lee, an illustrator and artist based in Washington DC.

Since 2017 I’ve been working as a full-time freelance illustrator. However, my path here was not a straight one. I studied fashion design in Parsons, and worked as a sweater designer in NYC for years until I decided to dive in fully to pursue my passion for art and illustration. I have been drawing all my life so the transition felt natural and organic.

What really gets me going is creating images that encourage empathy through a careful navigation of humor and sensitivity to make stuff of life a bit more palatable and enjoyable. I also love to draw people’s faces!

In my free time I like to make things. I still love to work with textiles, making clothes from scratch, working with natural dyes, and embroidering silly things. I also love to try out new recipes I gather from my travels around the world. I’m at my most content self when surrounded by nature with a good book and a cup of hot coffee. With a sketchbook handy, of course!

I would love to work with you! I welcome projects big and small.
